Thank you for choosing MyWineTour. These terms are here to keep everything clear and fair for both of us, so you can simply relax and enjoy your day in the Cape Winelands. By making a booking, you’re agreeing to what follows, and if anything is unclear, please just ask.
Booking and confirmation
A deposit may be required to secure your booking. Where one is taken, it confirms your date and locks in your pricing. Where no deposit is needed, your booking is confirmed once we’ve agreed the details and you’ve received written confirmation from me.
Payment
Full payment is required before the tour begins. Payment can be made by card through Yoco or by direct EFT. If full payment hasn’t been received by the time the tour is due to start, I may not be able to proceed on the day.
What’s included
What’s included in your day is set out in your booking confirmation, typically your sommelier guide, door-to-door transport, the tastings and experiences at the estates on your itinerary, and lunch at a selected estate restaurant.
Where you’d prefer to eat somewhere outside the selection, that lunch is either for your own account or charged in addition, and I’ll agree it with you beforehand.
Any wine you buy along the way is charged separately and is yours to enjoy. A few estates offer premium or flagship tasting flights that carry a small additional cost, payable directly on the day; I’ll always flag these in advance so there are no surprises.
Cancellations and refunds
Plans change, and I understand that. If you need to cancel, the following applies to the total amount paid:
- Seven days or more before your tour: full refund.
- Less than seven days but more than 24 hours before: 50% of the amount paid is refunded.
- Less than 24 hours before, or a no-show on the day: no refund.
Refunds are processed back to your original payment method within 10 business days.
Changes to your booking
If you’d like to change your date or itinerary, let me know at least 48 hours before your tour and I’ll do my best to accommodate you, subject to availability.
Changes I may need to make
I curate every day around you, but estates occasionally close, adjust their offering, or fill up, and some experiences depend on the weather. I reserve the right to substitute an estate or adjust the itinerary for a comparable alternative. This is simply part of keeping your day running beautifully, and isn’t grounds for a refund.
Circumstances beyond our control
Now and then, things happen that are beyond anyone’s control — extreme weather, natural disasters, strikes, road closures, or government restrictions. If a tour can’t go ahead for reasons like these, I’ll offer you an alternative date or a refund.
Enjoying the day responsibly
Wine tasting is the heart of the day, and you’re welcome to enjoy it at your own pace. I just ask that everyone drinks responsibly. In the rare event that a guest becomes excessively intoxicated or behaves in a way that’s unsafe or disruptive, I reserve the right to end the tour early, without a refund.
Age and alcohol
Guests under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied and supervised throughout. In line with South African law, no one under 18 may consume alcohol during the tour.
Your belongings and wine
Your personal belongings, and any wine you buy along the way, travel with you at your own risk. I’m not able to take responsibility for loss, breakage, or items left behind.
Estates, restaurants and other venues
I hand-pick wonderful independent estates and venues, but the tastings, food, and facilities at each are provided by them rather than by me. While I’ll always do everything I can to put things right, I can’t accept liability for the service, products, or anything that occurs at a third-party venue.
Liability and insurance
You take part in the tour and its activities at your own risk. As far as the law allows, MyWineTour cannot be held liable for personal injury, illness, loss, or damage occurring during the tour, except where it results from our own negligence. I recommend that all guests hold their own travel and personal insurance for their trip.
Photography
I may take photographs during the day for use on the MyWineTour website and social media. Please let me know if you would prefer not to be photographed, and that’s the end of it.
Your details and privacy
I only collect the information I need to plan and run your tour, and I keep it private and secure in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). The privacy policy sets out the detail.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your tour is the one in place at the time you book.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, and any matters arising fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of the Western Cape.
